The Glory Of Heaven by Betty Malz

Have you ever wondered what heaven will be like? Is it just a boring place of clouds, harps, and halos -or is there more to it than that?

Author Betty Malz approaches these questions and more, all from a biblical perspective using scripture to show what God has waiting for us on the other side. This book addresses common questions such as what will we eat, wear, and do? Will we still recognize our friends and family? Where will we live? It encourages the reader’s faith by showing the things we can look forward to when we return to be with our Father in heaven.

Malz briefly draws on her own Near Death Experience in 1959, in which she was clinically dead for 28 minutes, and claims to have visited heaven. She also includes a chapter on hell, along with near death experiences of those who have died and gone to hell, and returned to share their stories.

This book actually drew me in from a very touching dedication to and story of the author’s close friend, which really gives a sense of what kind of person Betty Malz was. I loved how everything in this book is addressed from a scriptural point of view, with a very strong focus on the necessity of salvation through Jesus Christ in order to enter heaven, even leading the reader in a sinners prayer.

Though this was a relatively short book at 140 pages, I felt like it might have been made a little shorter with better editing, as the author tended to wander off topic here and there to tell stories that weren’t necessarily relevant to the theme of the book.

I was also a little bit let down because I was expecting a lot of Near Death Experience (NDE) stories in this book, in particular the author’s own heaven experience, but it didn’t really have much in that line, only a few snippets here and there. It seems like a reader would be better off with her other book “my glimpse of eternity” if that is what they were hoping for.

However, if you are looking for a book based on scripture to answer your general questions about heaven, you will really enjoy The Glory Of Heaven; this book fills you with hope and joy about a seldom-discussed topic that many people ignore. A real faith-booster!

Betty Malz (1929-2012) was the author of ten books, including My Glimpse of Eternity, which has sold more than 750,000 copies. Following her death experience, Betty spent the next 53 years sharing her testimony through writing and speaking, always with great joy and a deep love for Jesus.

I’m not sure there’s an exact science to it. I like to use the 5 star rating because it’s what’s used most often on review sites like goodreads and, but some people like to use 10 stars. I would just use whatever one you feel like 😉
