Are you struggling to find contentment in life?

Bob Hostetler explores the book of ecclesiastes, one of the most enigmatic and misunderstood books of the Bible.

Known for its cynical refrain of “vanity, vanity, all is vanity!”, the book of ecclesiastes lays bare the realities of life without any attempts to sugar-coat or glamorize it. In other words, “life stinks and then you die!”

But deep within the heartfelt cries of agony rest some very profound truths, and eye-opening insights into the meaning and purpose of life, pointing to God as the one source of life’s happiness.

Life Stinks takes you through the valuable lessons found within ecclesiastes. The author explores each lesson in depth, sharing wonderful insights and light-hearted stories to illustrate the meanings of the verses, and ends each chapter with a prayer asking for God’s guidance in understanding and applying each principle to our own lives.

This book is an awesome faith builder and workbook for improving your life and deepening your relationship with God. I especially enjoyed Hostetler’s casual, down-to-earth approach to writing, and the overall structure and design of the book, which I think would work well for a weekly study/bible group (the book even contains a discussion guide in the back for group study). This book really blessed me, and I highly recommend it to anyone who is struggling to find happiness or contentment in life.

The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person.” Ecclesiastes 12:13
